If you’re using SharePoint behind F5’s Access Policy Manager and you’re having problems opening files you need to check out Microsoft’s Knowledge Base Article 2936341. This is a bug that’s been around in Windows for awhile (I was troubleshooting this almost a year ago) and has recently been fixed. The WebClient was not always sending the MHRSession persistent cookie when Office file tried to open.
